Exhaust and Muffler Blankets

Exhaust and Muffler Blankets

A muffler blanket is a removable insulated cover that wraps a hot exhaust component and keeps the heat inside it. On a truck, a digger or a generator that means less radiant heat reaching hydraulic lines, fuel lines, wiring and the people working next to the machine.

Kool Wrap makes custom muffler and exhaust blankets in Australia from your photos and dimensions. Standard covers are on this page. If your machine is not here, send measurements and we will quote it.

What a Blanket Does That a Wrap Cannot

Exhaust wrap is bonded to the pipe and stays there. A blanket is a tailored cover with fixings, made to come off.

That matters on plant and heavy vehicles. Exhaust components need inspecting, and anything permanently bonded to them has to be cut off and replaced every time. A blanket unclips, the fitter works, and the blanket goes back on.

Where Exhaust Blankets Go

Mufflers and Silencers

The largest hot surface on most machines and the one closest to stored dust, hydraulic runs and operator walkways.

Exhaust Manifolds

Kool Wrap supplies manifold covers for diesel engines including Scania and Detroit 6V92, plus the Exhaust Manifold Insulation Kit. That kit is glass fibre insulation with a Teflon coated outer that resists oil leaks, and it is made in Australia to order in seven to ten days. Browse manifold covers for diesel engines.

Marine Exhaust Risers

Boat engine rooms are the tightest spaces of all. That range sits on the marine exhaust insulation page, including blankets to suit Detroit 6V92 risers.

Turbochargers on Plant and Trucks

Engine-specific blankets for Cummins, CAT, Scania and Holset sit with the engine-specific turbo blankets.

Custom Work, and What We Need From You

Most blanket work on plant is custom, because mufflers and manifolds are not standard shapes.

Send photographs with a tape measure in shot, and the key dimensions. We quote from that. Marine blankets are usually finished in five to ten days. The manifold kit runs seven to ten days. A made-to-order Cummins QSM11 turbo blanket runs two to three weeks. Site visits can be arranged depending on location.
