Engine rooms in boats of all sizes are by definition hot and noisy places. So much so that there are safety codes in place to ensure safe working conditions for the crew. The code recommends controls on excessive heat and noise for very good reasons.

Kool Wrap Heat and Noise Insulation Blankets or Jackets are multi-layer blankets consisting of layers and heat and sound absorbing needle felt high temperature resistant silica of thicknesses up to 25mm, surrounded by a Teflon coated fibreglass outer layer. This outer layer is chemical resistant and provides a long lasting washable outer surface.
These multi-layer blankets are perfect for dramatically reducing the heat transfer (both radiation and convection) to the engine room atmosphere from the turbocharger exhaust housing as well as exhaust manifolds, exhaust piping and exhaust expansion joints.
Our blankets can also reduce harmful NOx gases in the engine room atmosphere caused by the oxidation of the nitrogen in the air when it contacts the hot exhaust manifold surfaces.
